You know the excitement when a brand you’ve been waiting to endeavor finally becomes bachelor where yous alive? Well, that certainly happened when I walked into my local drugstore on a random twenty-four hours and plant Flower Beauty. There was no heads up, it just suddenly popped upwards and one of the products I had been wanting to try for years is bachelor: the foundation. Now, the line I have access to is quite limited in terms of products. We just have some concealers, powders, the foundations and some pulverization blushes. That’s nearly it. So I oasis’t been able to try much, merely I idea I could whip out some reviews of the products that I can go my hands on and that I am interested in. Let’s start with the Flower Dazzler Light Illusion foundation.
Review: Blossom Beauty Light Illusion foundation Porcelain L1
Dissimilar other brands that we get that originates from a country away, we do non accept to pay a premium toll compared to the US. On the official Flower Beauty website, this verbal same production retails for $14. At my local drugstore this retails for €14.99 which is just a piddling fleck more. However, since I bought my products when the brand was introduced, I got this foundation with 25% off, which was a pretty good bargain. Now one difference that I did find is that our shade range isn’t equally good. More about that beneath.
What does this foundation have to offer?
On the Flower Dazzler website, this foundation comes in fifteen shades. In Holland? We get 6. So I bought the lightest shade bachelor with is Porcelain L1. This foundation is a buildable, medium coverage foundation with a dewy, natural finish. This is a hero product from the brand and I was super excited about this one as it was a production I had been wanting to effort for years. Information technology is a product that is very hyped up and allow me tell you: I like almost everything about this foundation, except for one thing which is a huge bargain breaker for me.
What does this foundation swatch like?
When I picked this up in store, I didn’t notice it looked all that dark. However, once I got it habitation and swatched it onto the dorsum of my hand I instantly thought: that may be virtually 2 – 3 shades darker than I need. The texture even so was lovely. This is exactly what I similar in a foundation: a buildable, easy to blend foundation that has a dewy look, just without roofing your skin upwardly completely. This looks and then pretty on, the longevity was slap-up and it looked neat on my dry skin and it didn’t expect cakey or overly makeuppy. In short: information technology has everything I like and then some. Withal, the shade match was horrible.
What is the shade match like?
And then I bought mine in the lightest shade available to me: Porcelain L1 and it is as well dark. It is about ii -3 shades too dark and as the foundation settles down, it also oxidizes a scrap making it even darker. You can see in this picture higher up that the undertone is also a fleck on the orange side for me as it is quite a warm toned foundation. In the bottom swatch picture, you tin can also see the foundation looking a bit darker around the edges where information technology was already settled onto my pare. Luckily for me, the range does come in a lighter shade (Shell L0) and then if I would ever be able to source that from some place, I would definitely pick it up. The reason? This foundation is a great drugstore foundation that is up at that place when I compare it to some of my high terminate foundations. So great foundation, shoddy shade lucifer.
What is the coverage similar?
As you can see here, this foundation looks really good 1 if we take the shade match out of the equation. This has everything I want! Information technology covers upward my redness, but it withal makes my pare look natural and dewy. Information technology is lightweight enough when applied with a sponge and it is works well on drier patches too. It just is an overall, great allrounder of a foundation. But as you can meet in the earlier and after picture here: this foundation makes me look orange. Maybe I can make this shade work in the summertime, only I practise non tan that much (hello pale skin here!) particularly not in my cervix. The simply think I could maybe brand this work for me is if I were to alloy my foundation all the fashion downwardly to my breast, down the back of my neck and that is simply a scrap besides much of a hassle to me.
My final thoughts
I actually wanted to like the Flower Beauty Light Illusion foundation. And I practice! I actually actually do. This is a stunning foundation, only the shade is merely too warm and too dark and information technology is making me look similar an oompa loompa. I am still curious plenty nigh the lighter shade that is available, only I currently have no ways to become my hands on information technology. I believe the closest place where Flower Beauty is too available is the UK and that is of course currently not a place I can get to. However, I do believe that Super Drug stocks the make (or Boots, either one of the ii) and so I promise they do sell the full shade range in that location so if we can travel again, I will certainly pick it upward as this foundation has everything I am looking for. It is dewy, it is natural, information technology is blendable, buildable and just overall a groovy foundation for someone with dry out skin like me.
Would I recommend the Flower Dazzler Low-cal Illusion foundation?
If you can find your shade match in this line and y’all accept dry out skin: go for information technology! However, with merely 6 shades available, I doubt anyone in The Netherlands tin can find their lucifer. This has been a known issue though. For years L’Oreal and Maybelline foundations that came in a bunch of shades in the US and the UK (and even Germany) would simply not be available in The Netherlands as nosotros only got a hand full of shades. That’s certainly the case here too and I honestly don’t go it. If yous desire to sell your products shouldn’t y’all make sure y’all cater to as many people as possible? I honestly practice not understand how any brand tin can launch merely a few shades in a sure country when other territories get many more. Rant over!
What foundation didn’t come in your shade?
